REMEMBER ME

STAGED CONCERT

#STAGED #CONCERT #REMEMBERANCE_DAY

On 27 January 1945, the Red Army liberated the Auschwitz extermination camp. Along the complex layers of this commemoration, the artists' collective ĀRT HOUSE 17 cautiously and reservedly, but in the course of the evening more and more confidently, feels its way out of the darkness of a nameless misfortune into the light.

This staged production premiered at Wiener Konzerthaus on 27th of January 2023: International Holocaust Remembrance Day, during Festival RESONANZEN, produced by Ārt House, featuring soloists Emma Kirkby, soprano and Jalda Rebling, chasan. It is based on an idea by director Adrian Schvarzstein, taking the audience on a journey which already starts before the concert, and does not end even after the last chords. A journey that means flight, displacement and migration, but also a departure into a better future.
